My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Everyone! My name is Lulu but everyone calls me Lu or Lou, all sounds the same to me. I am a 17 yr old African Grey. No one knows (except me) whether I am a boy or a girl. I even say "Good boy" or "Good girl" depending on what strikes my fancy. I was abandoned at my pet sitters house and after 3 years, she just couldn't care for me anymore. The wonderful folks at FPR found me a foster home, and well, here I am!

I am a pretty easy going bird for an African Grey. I like to sit on my playstand and look out the sliding glass door or a window, I am just fascinated by what goes on outside! I also like to chew on things, wood blocks and shredding type toys are my favorite. I will step up for the right person and that person needs to be female. I am not real fond of men and I will need to be adopted by a family where I will have a woman caretaker. I will sometimes take a treat from a man, but sometimes I will bite him instead.

I have a huge vocabulary and say a ton of things. I am obsessed with cookies and will ask for a cookie every chance I get. My foster mom has figured out that cookie means nutriberrie, or any other type of treat that isn't my regular food. I also ask "what are you doing?", especially when you are in the kitchen and I think I might get a cookie! I whistle, ring like the phone (and say hello like I'm answering it), beep like the microwave, and make a lot of other cell phone, alarm, and siren/ambulance type noises. My foster mom swears I say something new every day.

I am on a healthy diet of Higgens Fruit Pellets and Roudybush Adult Lifetime Maintenance Pellets. I'm not so sure about this stuff called chop, but I am starting to maybe like it just a little bit. I love fresh carrots, almonds, and all kinds of fruit, especially apples.

I am looking for my forever home and I know I will make a great companion, one that can even hold a conversation! Could that home be with you? Please come meet me and let's find out.
