Breed: Pit Bull
Estimated Date of Birth: September 29, 2013
Location: Dallas, GA
Watson was found running the streets with a logging chain badly embedded in his neck. Jones County is a very small rural shelter close to Macon that can only house 14 dogs. The good folks at Jones County opened the shelter after hours so we could get him. They had him cleaned up at the vet and started on antibiotics for him. Watson was also heartworm positive.
Watson has been fully vetted, treated for his heartworms, and only scars remain from his embedded chain. He has filled out and is a big, tall boy who has no idea how strong he is. Watson loves people and attention. Due to his past, he is a bit sensitive to raised voices and may cower when yelled at so it is important for Watson to have a forever home filled with positive reinforcement and love. He is an excellent snuggler although he does not realize his size and weight. He has done well with the one dog he has met. Due to his past neglect, Watson does not share resources with other dogs including food and toys. Watson is not suited for a home with cats.
