Marley's Story...
September 19, 2016: MARLEY was originally purchased from a breeder and then sold to another family who dumped her at the Roswell, NM Shelter. We pulled her on Sept. 19th (within 24 hours), and had her spayed and her stomach "tacked" to prevent a potentially fatal condition called bloat. MARLEY is approximately 3-4 years old and has had a litter of pups prior to us rescuing her. She is a gentle giant, though she still needs to gain about 20 pounds and we're working on that. She is extremely gentle and socialized with people, though not comfortable with other dogs (because she's never lived with other dogs). Marley is not a barker, is house trained, and ABSOLUTELY LOVES TO RIDE IN OUR CAR/SUV and loads and unloads easily. She has no food aggression/protection issues and we'll be working on her leash skills (her gentle leader, collar and leash are on the way) as she doesn't know how to talk on leash. She is good with a collar. As is typical of a Dane, she should be fed 3 smaller meals a day and she believes she should sit on your lap! Ha Ha! She's a beautiful gal who deserves a good life. Please go to puppydogranch.org for our adoption information and application or call us Tues-Fri at (575) 313-7232 for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marley, a Arenas Valley Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Arenas Valley, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Arenas Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arenas Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arenas Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arenas Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
