My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAGIC is an amazing dog. Majestic is the word. Definitely from the Basenji breed, he is about a year old. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm tested NEG. He has really come a long ways since he's been here. He has grown up and become a nice, stable dog that likes everyone. Magic really loves kids. He gets along with other dogs but occasionally becomes a little bullish. He would do well with a submissive companion. He will chase cats if they run. In the house, though, he leaves them alone. I've even seen him back off fast when one stands up for themself with a hiss and a claw.

The Basenji is a breed of hunting dog. It was bred from stock that originated in central Africa. The Basenji produces an unusual yodel-like sound commonly called a "baroo" due to its unusually shaped larynx. This trait also gives the Basenji the nicknamet;soundless dog They were bred for this because barking could lead enemies to humans' forest encampments This dog did not attract predators like regular barking dogs so they were not only safer to have around but they also were great hunting dogs. The Basenji is alert, energetic, curious and reserved with strangers. The Basenji tends to become emotionally attached to a single human. Basenjis like to climb. Basenjis often stand on their hind legs, somewhat like a meerkat, by themselves or leaning on something; this behavior is often observed when the dog is curious about something.

He is currently in Texas and will be transported once adopted. If you are interested in him, please text me (210-394-6060) with your name, dog's name, and your e-mail and I will send you more pictures, answer any questions, and send you the link for the on-line application.

ADOPTION FEE: $299. This includes all medical, microchip, health certificate for travel, and all transportation costs to one of the 5 drop-off locations which are Bothell/Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Tualitin and Eugene from which you can chose.

All of our adoptions come with a five day, money back trial period. If you have issues with your new arrival we can extend the trial period. We may ask, if you would like to return the dog back to rescue, that you can foster the dog until we re-home or a foster home opens up for them.

Thanks so much for looking to adopt a rescue dog!
