Kacie Jacobs's Story...
Thank You Lizzie Jacobs!
Due to the generosity of an amazing young supporter, Lizzie Jacobs, who wanted to do something meaningful in honor of her two rescue dogs, Joyful Rescues was able to save more precious lives! Lizzie tells us, 'I named this transport in honor of my two rescue dogs, Miles and Sadie. When I visited Joyful Rescues for the first time I saw a very special and unique type of rescue. Just to name a few reasons why Joyful is so special: the dogs have no deadline for when they need to be adopted, they receive top notch healthcare, food, love, and time outdoors to run and play (as opposed to being locked in a crate all day which is standard at many rescues and shelters). There is so much need for a place like Joyful Rescues and that is why I wanted to sponsor a transport.' ~ Lizzie Jacobs Thank you Lizzie! Miles and Sadie are very blessed to have a mommy who has so much compassion for homeless animals!
Kacie Jacobs was born about November 12, 2015 and may top out in the 30 lb. range. She is a quiet, happy, get along with everyone kind of girl that is all wiggly when you look her way. However, it has taken her a couple of weeks to feel this way about us and she still doesn't know what to think of us. She was rather frightened when she first arrived so may need some warm up time in her next life change. Kacie is doing really well with the other dogs. She is a real cutie! Please understand that we have no prior knowledge of this dog and we will be learning as we go and so will you.One thing I need to mention is that her paperwork lists her as a Lab mix, but I'm struggling with that and feel she's a bit more Beagle'ish and Border Collie'ish, but there are probably a hundred other things mixed in! Update: Kacie is feeling right at home and is still going to be a bit timid in a new location, but she is never nippy. She is a happy little thing and now wags her tail often and looks at us with sweet expressions. She is a quiet girl that doesn't ask for much in life and has probably never had much love or luxury before coming to New York. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $325.00
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
