Ike's Story...
I LIKE IKE!

My fellow American, this year do some early voting and cast your ballots for Ike. This sweet boy’s position on all issues is that he loves you, and I ask, how can you go wrong with that? Ike is a three year old lab mix who weighs about 50 pounds. Ike is a retired sentry dog transferred to the shelter from the Idaho State Correctional Institution who is now looking to fill some lucky family’s heart with joy. Ike enjoys to playing fetch loving on his people. Ike gets along pretty well with dogs (for older dogs, Ike's energy level is off-putting, so he would need to be slowly introduced to any potential playmate). Ike is reported to do well with older children, and up to date on shots and kennel-trained. Ike’s campaign headquarters are at the rescue, so come on down and meet this once in a lifetime, very special candidate.

If you want to apply for Ike, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ike, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
