Cam came into rescue when a Good Samaritan found him tied to a street sign with a note taped to his collar that said “Please Help.” One look at this sweet smiling boy’s face and we knew that we would help him find his forever family. While we aren’t sure who left him tied to that sign, we hope they know that Cam did find help and will have the most amazing life!
Cam is a roughly 18-month old Lab/Boxer Mix. He is the yummiest dark chocolate in color which matches his amazingly sweet personality. He is full grown at just over 50 pounds and is a higher energy boy who would benefit from a family that can give him plenty of exercise.
Cam has done a great job of acclimating into his foster home, including working hard on his kennel and house training. He is also working hard on his leash manners, but is still a young, energetic guy who will require some patience as he continues to develop into an amazing adult companion. Cam has done well meeting other dogs, but can be a bit hyper for calm and submissive dogs. He loves to run and play with other dogs and will make a great buddy to another dog with a proper introduction.
Cam has met and done great around children who are gentle and loving to animals. He would likely fare better in a home with older children, his activity level may be a bit too much for tiny kiddos. He would be a great buddy for some active kids to grow up with!
Cam should be adopted by a family who understands that he will take time and patience as he acclimates into his new life. He may have accidents, chew on things he is not supposed to, and bark in his kennel. It can take dogs a few weeks to properly acclimate to their new lives, so he is seeking a family that can give him this time and work with him on becoming an even more awesome dog than he already is. Cam should be adopted by a family who plans to keep him indoors as part of a family - we do not adopt dogs into situations in which they will be left outside for extended periods of time unattended (for example, the entire work day).
Cam is fully vetted (neutered, shots, microchip, heartworm tested - negative) and has no known health or allergy issues.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. This can be done via our website at www.reggiesfriends.org - please hover over the adoptables tab and the application will appear.
