Peggy's Story...
Peggy is a "torbie" -- fur coloring that is a cross between a tabby and a tortoiseshell -- and has striking deep mustard-gold eyes. Her size is more on the petite side.

She was rescued from a shelter in southern Virginia after having been found as a stray.

Peggy seems to be quite demure and gentle in her behavior. She does enjoy being gently held and petted, and will reward you with a soft purr.

We do not know her history with other cats, so if she is adopted into a home with another feline, proper introduction procedures need to be followed to ensure pet harmony. Helpful guidelines for this process are posted on our website.

Peggy was born in September 2014. She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been micro chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peggy, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
