Meet Abby!! Abby was rescued from a high kill shelter in SC. Abby had an adopter come to the shelter and was all excited to have a new home. But her adopter never came back to pick her up and the shelter filled up fast. Abby found herself on the dreaded urgent list. But not if TLR had anything to do with it! We scooped this sweet girl up! Abby is a smaller Shepherd/Husky mix about 1- 2 years old. She may look large in her photos, but she is actually only about 30 pounds. Abby just got here to her foster home, and so far she is crate trained, potty trained and sweet but shy. She does have a very high amount of energy and loves to run in her foster’s yard. She's just gorgeous & we cannot wait to get to know her better. Abby is spayed, up to date on all vaccines & is ready to be adopted to the right fit. She will need a fenced yard with supervision & someone who can give her the proper amount of exercise every single day. Abby has tested positive for Heartworms and is being treated by the rescue who will cover all costs until negative. Abby is in a foster home in NC and can be transported to NJ or MD for an approved adopter.
Update from Foster on 10/17/16: Unfortunately we found out that our sweet Abby is HW positive, currently under treatment using the slow kill method. Please don’t let this stop you from falling in love with her – the rescue group will pay for her medication and treatment until she comes back negative and all those bad worms are gone!
Abby is very shy & will need a patient & understanding adopter. There's not a mean bone in her little body & she is VERY food motivated. Slowly but surely she has been warming up to us & is now starting to show us more of her personality. She is housebroken, crate trained, absolutely loves the other dogs in our house, & adores her toys!! We just adore her â¤â¤â¤
