I am already spayed, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
Pheenix, a lovely little girl approximately 1 ½ years of age. Found next to a garbage dump near a pet store, we thought this name derived from Greek mythology (meaning “regenerating” or “reborn”) suited her perfectly. Although she hid under the bed for a time upon arriving to our house, she slowly is warming-up to her foster parents and the resident felines. While she is a bit unsure whether to play with the other cats or hid under the bed, her socialization is coming along as she now enjoys snuggling with her foster mom at bedtime. Pheenix is a great self-entertainer as she loves to bat-around glitter balls or plays with any feathered toy. She especially enjoys chill-out time atop a kitty condo basking in the sunshine. Pheenix has one more trip to the vet for her last booster and won’t be ready for a forever home until mid-October.
Cause for Paws is a Minnesota nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1998. It is a small all-volunteer group of friends who love cats and want to make a difference for cats in our community. The small group's main focus is helping stray and abandoned cats and kittens find loving, permanent homes. Cats are fostered in volunteers' homes; there is no shelter facility. The goal of every Cause for Paws adoption is a home where the cat and the other family members -- both two-legged and four-legged -- will thrive. Prior to adoption, all cats are examined by a veterinarian, Felv/fiv tested, vaccinated (including rabies and distemper), spayed or neutered, microchipped and registered, fostered in a volunteer foster home to determine the kitty’s personality, and received treatment for flea/parasite prevention. As funds allow, Cause for Paws also provides spay/neuter assistance for owned cats in the community, through its Cause for Paws Spay/Neuter Subsidy Program. The work of Cause for Paws is funded entirely by donations.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Cause for Paws hosts adoption events at the Petcos in Highland and Roseville. We also have cats available for viewing at the Petco store in Roseville in their in-house adoption kennels. If someone is interested in seeing one of our cats, arrangements can be made to meet this cat at a time other than our scheduled adoption events. Our adoption events are typically held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please see our website for specific dates and locations.
Our Adoption Process...
The adoption fee for a Cause for Paws cat is $130. There is an adoption application that is completed and reviewed prior to the adoption. This application will ask for a veterinarian reference and we will check this reference prior to an adoption. The application gives us an opportunity to learn more about the potential adopter and whether or not the cat that they are interested in would be a good match. There is also an adoption contract that is completed at the time of the adoption. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, we typically will respond to an inquiry within 24 to 48 hours.
