Hi! I’m Roamer, a beautiful long-haired black and white youngster, about 2 years old and 40 lb.  I’m a Border Collie mix – but really, regardless of any other heritage, I’m all Border Collie, all the time!

I’m a very good boy!  I’m smart, I’m house and kennel trained, and I like people and other dogs. I just love car rides!  I’ve got a sense of humor and play “keep away” REALLY well! BUT – I am a Border Collie, and that means my Forever Family must understand this and be well prepared to deal with the special gifts and needs of my breed.

I need a fenced yard, but that’s only the beginning. I need CONSTANT activity!  I can only be happy with a lifestyle suited to my relentless energy.  I need training, direction, and steady active work.  A strong, experienced leader who knows my breed well and treats me kindly and firmly, will win my undying loyalty and love!  Outdoor country life, or a regular, challenging program of agility or sports training, is ideal for me.

If you’re looking for a willing, super-energetic dog with a yen for work and a twinkle in his eye, I’m here, ready and waiting for you!

Thank you for considering adopting a new family member. Most of our adoptable dogs live inside foster homes.  Fostering teaches house manners, helps to potty/crate train and accustoms the dogs become familiar with the sights, sounds of living in a home environment.

About Dogs 2nd Chance - Munford

About Our Rescue Group...

Dogs 2nd Chance is a 501[c]3 non-profit dog foster group that was founded in the fall of 2007. We are a group of VOLUNTEERS that saw the need to help medium and large mixed breed dogs find permanent loving homes. We have evolved to help any size dogs. We are NOT a shelter. We receive no government funding and depend on our minimal adoption fees, donations and our own bank accounts.

All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and become a temporary active member of our family. Fostering helps to socialize the dogs, helping them adjust to life in a family setting. The majority of our dogs were abandoned, dumped or found running stray. We attempt to reunite lost dogs with their owners by placing ads in local newspapers and online classified ads. Additionally, we rescue dogs from high kill shelters as space allows. We are caring for the castaways by saving one dog at a time.

Our Adoption Process...

Online Adoption Questionnaire located at

The adoption process includes filling out this questionnaire and signing an Adoption Agreement when the adoption is finalized. We check vet references, check with landlords and do home visits. All dog adopted must be family members not "just a dog".
