Buddy is one magnificent, handsome, sweet Staffordshire Terrier mix. This smart pooch is well-trained, healthy and a quiet guy. Buddy loves all people, including children. A well-mannered pup, Buddy will steal your heart as he watches TV right along side you. He particularly enjoys shows on Animal Planet! Or re-runs of Lassie. Or any show with dogs ... what the heck, he’s a flexible, cool dude! His previous owner had to surrender him due to coming on hard times. Buddy was very well-cared for. This 5-year-old gentleman comes with lots of good manners. He knows how to sit, stay, lay, and shake hands. And he’ll tell you when he wants to go outside to potty. He’s also crate-trained and doggie door trained.

Blissful Buddy would do best as an “only buddy.” And no cats, please. He’s a sweet guy and would enjoy a yard to play in and a human buddy to play with him. He’d love a family that would take him on walks! He’s also big enough to carry a pack...with his water...and yours! No apartments for this guy.

This charming fellow loves to go for car rides and is calm and quiet. He also is good when you give him a bath! He listens when you tell him something and walks well on a leash. He enjoys his belly-rubs as well as playing with you (or entertaining himself) and chasing his ball. He’s also a polite gentleman accepting treats very gently (see videos below).

Buddy is neutered, micro-chipped, has current shots and weighs about 55 pounds.

About AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is committed to providing rescue and safe-haven for dogs in need. Most of the dogs we rescue are of mixed breeds. When we are out with our dogs and people ask, "What kind of dog is that?", my husband replies by saying, "It is a rare Prussian Snailhound. They are popular in Europe." Each Prussian Snailhound is unique and deserves a loving home! Please open your heart and your home to a rescue dog!

Our major focus is the rescue of stray dogs from the Ft. McDowell Indian Reservation. Since July 2009 we have worked with other groups to rescue over 300 dogs and puppies. These are amazingly sweet dogs that have had to live off of the land and brave extreme heat, cold, rain, drought, coyotes, rattlesnakes, hunger, traffic and people who try to harm them. They deserve to have a proper home. This started out as a mission to save about 30 dogs who hung out behind the casino, as the casino managers saw them as a nuisance and were threatening to poison or shoot the dogs. We ended up saving way more dogs as we became aware that the problem extended far beyond the casino. Some of the adult dogs are extremely fearful of humans at first and require extensive rehabilitation in order to learn how to trust and become a member of the family. Once they realize how good home life is, they will be your best friend for life!

In addition to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs from the Ft. McDowell Indian Reservation, it is our goal to work closely with the tribe to educate people who live on the Reservation about spay/neuter and to facilitate a low cost spay/neuter program.
