Hi, my name is Meatball and I'm a five-year old bundle of love! Although my name makes me sound like a real tough guy, my foster mom says I am one of the sweetest, gentlest boys she has ever met. She also says it's appropriate that I was named after an entree, since one of my favorite things to do is eat! (I'm notorious for raiding the food pantry in search of snacks when nobody's looking).

Although I'm in good shape, I'm not much of a walker - in fact, I'm not crazy about hanging around outdoors for very long. But I do love couches and soft, fluffy dog beds, and anywhere I can cuddle up and take a well-deserved nap. I am potty trained and very well-behaved. Although I like to rummage through the occasional trash can looking for munchies, I am generally very respectful of property and go straight to my elk antler when I've got the itching to chew.

My foster mom says that I'm a total charmer, and that I know how to wrap unsuspecting humans around my paw. I love to stand on a human's lap and rest my head on their shoulder (foster mom calls it "perching"). And then I lean in for the kiss!

I have already had one ear surgery and I'm getting ready for my second (and last). My hearing has suffered a little as a result, and although I respond and come when called, humans may have to be patient and even repeat themselves a time or two before I realize they're talking to me!

My foster mom thinks I would probably do best as an only dog, but I am great with kids and adults (I LOVE humans)! I am looking for a love match that likes long naps, cuddling on the couch, eating, and smooching. Could that be you?

Our Adoption Process...

1. If you would like to know if you are in our adoption area, please View our Adoption Area Map.

We know there are so many wonderful homes out there in other states and other parts of Illinois that we simply can't get to.

2. We will only consider a home with an application on file. So, if you don't have your application on file with us, please fill one out. To fill out our application, please visit:

3. Each application is thoroughly reviewed and will either pass through to a phone interview, or will not move forward. We will contact you if we feel you make the cut. We also require an in-home interview and will advise if you have made it through to that round.

4. Each bulldog will come with an adoption fee that varies from around $575 and up depending on the age and health of the dog. In addition, we require a contract that indicates that if for any reason, you can no longer keep your rescued bulldog, you will contact us directly for rehoming.
