Hi, I’m Gunner! I’m crate trained, know basic commands like “sit” “heel” “off” and “down” (although I’ll need consistent reminders about my manners as I forget when I am excited), am in good health, and am up-to-date on all my necessary vaccinations. Also, my current family got a DNA breed test done and my ancestry is predominantly Manchester terrier, Akita and Maltese with a few other breeds sprinkled in there from my distant past.
My currently family loves me dearly but isn’t able to spend the time with me that I need since having new work schedules and adding a baby to the mix, so I’m looking for a home that’s a better fit. I prefer to be the only fur baby and will do best in a stable home with pet parents who are experienced with dogs and without children under the age of 12. When we first meet I’ll be a little apprehensive since I’m skeptical of strangers. Once I know you’re safe, I won’t be able to get enough of you and you can expect to get lots of kisses!
My hobbies, you ask? Well, I know how to relax, but my first love is being with my family. Once I know everything is safe and secure, I love to run freely (if you have a fenced-in yard, you get major bonus points!), chase after any kind of ball, chew on my chew toys or bone, take walks (with a confident pet parent), and just lounge with the family at the end of the day after I’ve run out of energy. Oh, I won’t want to do all that alone… I’m the kind of guy who prefers the company of my pet parents throughout the day.
