Speedy is a big, strong, confident brown tabby fellow. He has lived previously with a single adult and one other cat. There were no children living in the home but he loved those who visited on a regular basis. Dogs may be another story. Here in the shelter he prefers to hide when he hears barking dogs. We believe he will do well in almost any home with adults or a family with polite children age 10+ who will treat him kindly and with respect.

Speedy will appreciate a small room to call his own for a period of time as he adjusts to his new living arrangement. In addition to all his kitty essentials, be sure to provide him with a generously sized litter box and a cozy cocoon-like bed, basket or box to give him a feeling of security. Visit him often, talking to him softly and reassuring him that all will be well. Engage him in play with an interactive wand toy to help him relax and bond with you. He enjoys vigorous play sessions which will help him slim down a bit also. Speedy is an outgoing and confident boy; soon he will be ready to check out the rest of his new home. Always leave the way open for him to return to his sanctuary if he wishes.

In his previous home Speedy lived as an indoor cat, but had the luxury of an enclosed outdoor "catio" where he could enjoy fresh air and sunshine while remaining safe from the many dangers of being outside. If a catio is not possible, an alternative would be a sturdy cat tree or shelf near a sunny window that would allow him to enjoy any activity outdoors.

Most of all, Speedy looks forward to having your affectionate attention as well as a good rousing play period as often as possible. He's a great big "bubba" of a cat- irresistible!
