Toro is a handsome 1 year old Terrier / Chihuahua mix and weighs about 13 lbs. He is super sweet, loves to kiss your toes when you walk by. He can be a little shy with new people, but only wants love once he meets you. Toro really likes playing with other dogs, even dogs that are much smaller or bigger than he is He is learning to sit and stay very quickly and is very treat motivated & responds well to clicker training. Toro was sleeping in his kennel but he is doing so well, he now sleeps with his foster mom and he much prefers that. He is picking up good manners more and more each day. He is house trained and likes to use the doggie door. Toro is learning self control and making good progress. Toro has a lot of happy energy but he also loves to snuggle up in your lap. He has some separation anxiety and does't like to be left alone much for very long. Toro loves walks, goes nuts with excitement with he sees the leash and is a little reactive when he sees other dogs on the street so we are working on that. He would be a perfect hiking companion. Toro has been very gentle with the children he has met so we think he'd do great in a home with kids. So Toro will make a great addition to and family.
Toro is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
