Facts about Dottie

  • Breed: English Setter
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10624189-9183

Darling Dottie came to AFH after being picked up by animal control as a stray in rural WV. She was emaciated and had a pest issue. She has now been vetted, all of her friends are gone, and is up to date on all of her vaccines. Unfortunately one of her “hitchhikers” did leave her with Lyme’s disease which is being treated. Dottie is getting stronger everyday with good groceries and loving. She is house broken and is starting to like her crate. She is a very sweet girl with her people and as she gets stronger has even tried to play a little with her canine buddies. Dottie does have hearing issues, she relies on sight and just a gentle touch to get her in the right direction. Please consider this little sweetheart for your forever best friend.

About A Forever Home Rescue Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

A Forever-Home Rescue Foundation is a non-profit animal rescue group that operates in the Northern Virginia / Washington Metropolitan area. We strive to make quality dogs available for adoption and do our best to match prospective adopters with the right animal!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption events are held at Petco in the Greenbriar Shopping Center every Sunday from 1-4 pm. We do occassionally skip a week, so please visit our primary website at to confirm that we're having an event on the weekend you plan to attend.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application to be filled out, an interview with one of our volunteers (this can be done at the adoption event), a home visit is required prior to the animal going to their new home. An adoption fee is required to adopt a pet from AFH. Please visit our primary website at for details.
