Despite his black coat, Curly has the heart of a Golden Retriever, loving and affectionate as can be. His foster family describes him as a sweetheart and champion cuddler! While he acts like a wild child in the yard (he loves to run!), he is relatively calm in the house and wants to be close to you, or at least to keep you in his line of sight.
Curly is a social creature who enjoys meeting new people and dogs, all of whom he gets along with. He can live with or without another dog, but we think that he would do best with older children due to his excitability--we don't want him knocking over your little ones inadvertently!
We would like to see Curly in a forever home with a fenced yard so that he can do his zoomies to burn off his puppy energy. If you are a runner and willing to take him with you every day, that would be wonderful, too. In any case, Curly is a dog who needs to run. Wait till you see that big smile on his face as he tears around at top speed!
Having someone home most of the time would be a plus, since Curly has mild separation anxiety and doesn't do especially well in a crate. Resources are available to help you with his transition and continued training to ensure a successful adoption.
If Curly sounds like a good fit for your active lifestyle, we would love to hear from you! He is being fostered in the Twin Cities metro area, and his adoption fee is $350.
