Chica's Story...
Hi there! My name's Chica, what's yours? I'm a 5 year old female lhasa apso / chihuahua mix, and would LOVE to be your new best friend! I was brought to the shelter by my owner, who was getting a divorce and could no longer care for me.

I'm a very sweet girl, and I love all the attention I can get! I would do well with other dogs and cats, but have never been around kids before. I'm housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and also have a microchip. What more could you ask for??? Now I'm just waiting for someone like YOU to come adopt me!

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chica, a Youngwood Lhasa Apso/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso/Chihuahua for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Lhasa Apso/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso/Chihuahua breeders who help with Lhasa Apso/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
