Meet Ian. Ian was a stray, found fending for himself. He was saved from a busy Richardson street in the middle of a rainstorm…luckily, his rescuer knew of Take Me Home Pet Rescue. He ended up with us and in the loving arms of one of our office volunteers who doubles as a cat foster!

In addition to being underweight (initially we thought he was a kitten), he had noticeable trauma to his right eye. It was impossible to see his pupil. A visit to the vet right away confirmed he needed surgery. Unfortunately, he wasn't getting any use of that eye.  Thanks to generous donors, Ian had eye surgery to remove the eye.

But guess what? He gets along just fine without it. He loves to run zoomies through his foster's house, chasing toys and the house cats and dog! He LOVES TO play fetch with fuzzy ball toys and then chill on the cat tower. He is one cool dude of a cat with a great attitude! He has been through so much in his first year and he still loves and trusts humans.

Ian has recovered from surgery and gained a healthy amount of weight. He will do well in a home where he he can be someone's best buddy. With proper introduction, he will do well in a home with other cats or cat-friendly dogs. Ian spends a lot of his time with his foster dog sibling. He would probably be fine in a home with just another dog. He certainly needs to be with a playmate, but it doesn't need to be a cat. Who's ready to add a cool dude to their family?

Ian's approximate birthday is 5/27/2015.

About Take Me Home Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.

Our Adoption Process...

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. A $50 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.
