This pretty boy Angel came to us from Edinburgh after his previous owners discarded him. He came to us in pretty rough shape - severely emaciated with some growths on him and about 1,000 ticks - yuk! It took us a quite a while to get him feeling better! Angel is 5-6 years old and his best friend is an 8# maltipoo!!!

Angel is going to be a special placement. He will require pain meds for the rest of his life due to bridging in his spine. We can not begin to guarantee how long his life span will be, but what we can guarantee is that every day you spend with him will be good for you!

Angel doesn’t care that he isn’t as mobile as other dogs. He LOVES to play with his wubbas and carry his toys around with him! He loves to play fetch and can often be found happily just following his foster mom around while she does chores. Because of his limited mobility he needs a few adaptations. He would do best in a home that is mostly carpeted, or a family willing to put down rugs to help him navigate would be best for him. Also a family who will be diligent about ensuring he gets his meds. He wouldn’t be best in a home with very young children because he can not be hung off of, laid on, or bounced off of. He would do great with another dog or dogs in the home as long as they are not too rambunctious.

Angel’s adoption fee is 250.00 that includes his neuter surgery, microchip, and vaccines. If you are interested in Angel please fill out the application located at www.texasgreatdane.org and his foster mom will get in touch with you.

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.

About Homeward Bound Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of private foster homes dedicating to saving and finding forever homes for as many dogs as we can. We primarily pull from the local kill shelters, and we also rescue abandoned dogs. We fully vet and assess the temperaments of our fosters and then try to find them the best forever homes possible. We do it because we love them and because we hope our efforts encourage others to do the same. We also participate in local rescue advocacy groups and work in public education efforts to promote spay / neuter and responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We aren't a shelter so don't have a public viewing area, but we participate in area community adoption events and schedule meetings with potential adopters by appt. once we have an approved application

Our Adoption Process...

Our policies, procedures, and fees are listed on our website and in our applications and contracts. We require an approved application prior to setting up a meeting (usually a home visit), a contract if the meeting goes well, and a trial adoption period before finalizing the adoption.
