Marla is a tiny 7-8# Chiweenie mix that came with a pack of other chiweenies from a home where their only owner passed away.  Marla is one of the sweetest snuggliest tiny dogs we have ever had!  She gets along great with all of her foster siblings and she likes the dive under her foster mom's covers at night!!   Marla is about 5-6 years old, fully vaccinated, spayed and she tested negative for heart worms.

Marla's adoption fee is $150 and an online application can be completed at

Please note we are a group of private foster homes and NOT a public shelter, we have weekly adoption events at the Unleashed petstore at 18138 San Pedro (1604 & 281) in San Antonio, on Saturdays from 11-3 . With an approved application on file we are happy to hold your chosen pet for 2 hours past the start of our event to give you time to get here. We routinely do adoptions throughout the Austin and San Antonio areas and the rest of Texas. We try to schedule bi-monthly meet ups in Austin, as interest is generated.

About Homeward Bound Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of private foster homes dedicating to saving and finding forever homes for as many dogs as we can. We primarily pull from the local kill shelters, and we also rescue abandoned dogs. We fully vet and assess the temperaments of our fosters and then try to find them the best forever homes possible. We do it because we love them and because we hope our efforts encourage others to do the same. We also participate in local rescue advocacy groups and work in public education efforts to promote spay / neuter and responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We aren't a shelter so don't have a public viewing area, but we participate in area community adoption events and schedule meetings with potential adopters by appt. once we have an approved application

Our Adoption Process...

Our policies, procedures, and fees are listed on our website and in our applications and contracts. We require an approved application prior to setting up a meeting (usually a home visit), a contract if the meeting goes well, and a trial adoption period before finalizing the adoption.
