Sage is a 4 year old cat. We rescued him as a kitten shortly after our son was born. Sage is extremely attached to our 2 children and is great with all kids. We live in the mountains and Sage has been an indoor outdoor cat. He loves chasing lizards in the yard and does very well at keeping the gophers and squirrels out of our garden. Sage will spend the rest of his time lazing around the house. Sage will curl up in your lap if you are willing. Sage is unique in the way that he will go on our family 1/2 mile walk with us each day. We recently learned that our son is allergic to cats and that his allergy has been the root of his health problems. Sage has now been living in our garage. With winter and cold temperatures approaching, we need to find him a home. We will provide two litter boxes, food and water dishes, and we will pay the adoption fee.

About Mountains' Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non profit group of volunteers that began in 1975. We have no shelter facilities, we rely only on foster homes and donations to keep our programs running.
We have membership that offers discounts at local merchants
We have newsletters with pet tips and info
We offer emergency medical funding
We have a telephone and website service to assist with lost & found animals, adoptions, Foster care and general info.
We have pet identification tags for $5

Come Meet Our Pets...

Because of our mountain location, our winter weather can be freezing and long. We encourage you to check the Calendar page on our website at www.mountainshumanesociety.org for the dates & locations of our events. You can also view photos of our current animals available by clicking on the "Adoptions" tab.
We DO NOT have a location/facility/shelter. If you would like to meet any of our available animals, we will need to set up a one on one meeting with you.

Our Adoption Process...

Please e-mail us to request an adoption application, and specify what animal you are interested in. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so be sure you fill in every line.
We ask for a $95.00 donation for dogs and a $75 donation for cats. Our adoption donation is quite a bargain if you add up the costs of everything we include; our animals are already spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and have been tested for FLA virus (cats) and Heartworm (dogs). We also include a free local Veterinarian office visit, a folder of valuable information about your pet, a DVD to help you and your new pet adjust, and a goodie bag of treats, coupons, samples and a toy. During the "good weather" months, we will be having adoption days throughout our mountain communities at which times most of our listed animals can be seen.
