Hello, my name is Little One! AADR rescued me from a breeder in Tennessee so I could have a home where I would be loved forever.
I am a little shy at first, but with patience and kindness I warm up just fine. I like warm blankets, comfy beds, and my chew toy. When I was rescued, I did not know how to walk on a leash - I am working on it now and think I am getting the hang of it - for this reason, a fenced in yard would be best for me.
I like to snuggle and run with other SMALL dogs, but am scared with big dogs. I act aggressive toward them because I am afraid. I would rather have a brother or sister to keep me company during the day. I don’t bark often but I do like to “talk and sing” when I hear new and funny sounds outside. I lived outside mostly dirt and concrete, so grass is new to me.
I am not house broken yet, but my foster mommy and daddy are working with me to change that. So, it shouldn’t be long before I get the hang of that too!
If you have questions or need more info, please contact my foster mom, Faren, at email@example.com . I am really looking forward to hearing from you!
=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your 'new friend' get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
Your message has been sent to All American Dachshund Rescue.
You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
