Willie's Story...
Birthdate: September 2011. Meet Willie! Willie came for Puerto Rico, where he was abandoned by his owner before being rescued. He was fostered in Puerto Rico for some time until he was health enough to be flown to Michigan to find his forever home. Willie is really playful and very lovable. He is great with other dogs and excellent with children, but we have not exposed him to cats yet so we don't know whether he is good with them. If you are interested in Willie, contact us or see him at our Saturday adoption events 11 am - 4 pm at the Sterling Heights Petco off of Lakeside Circle by Lakeside Mall [right next to ToysRUs].

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Willie, a Sterling Heights Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Sterling Heights, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Sterling Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sterling Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sterling Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sterling Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
