Chuy's Story...
Chuy
This cute little guy is Chuy. He was a stray dog in the streets of Juarez, Mexico. The rescue that we work with down there has done a wonderful job of getting him rehabbed and in great shape to find his forever home. Chuy is a one year old terrier mix and weighs about 8 lbs. He used to be really shy but we have found that playing with other dogs and being with humans as helped bring him out of his shell. He absolutely loves to play with dogs around his size. We therefore think he would be best in a house with one or more similar size dogs to play with. He is also pretty smart because he learned how to use the dog door within the first hour of being in the fosters home. Chuy is house trained, walks well on leash and loves to play with his toys. If you're looking for a nice companion and you're willing to have patience with Chuy to make him comfortable in your home, please complete an online application at www.lapdogrescue.org and be sure to include his name, Chuy, at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chuy, a Tijeras Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
