Hi, my name is Duncan. You may call me the King. My foster Mom says I'm a terrier mix that wants to be in charge and rule the castle. I don't understand her constant correction on who is in charge. I am not a fan of bigger dogs because they threaten my ability to rule. Smaller dogs and cats pfft, no problem. She says I have some nervous energy, but exercise and play calm me down. My last owner left me in a crate A LOT, so that could be the reason. My hair and skin are not the best because of it, but my foster Mom is working on that to make me even more handsome. I also have a chronic dry eye that requires daily eye drops for the rest of my rule here on earth. I love attention and to follow you around keeping things in check. I get really excited when my meal is served. I like playing with my foster sister, Princess Tizzy. I am neutered, up to date on Vaccinations, on flea and tick prevention and housetrained!  I am estimated to be 5 to 7 years old and about 25 lbs. If you would like a terrier mix to rule your castle and your life, I'm your guy. Email For an application and more information. I am fostered in Preston county, WV. My adoption amount is $150.

Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc.  They are not to be sold or given away.

About Pet Helpers, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

We were formed in September of 2008. We provide much needed support to pet owners, animal caregivers and other rescues. We also work to educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We place homeless animals from within our organization as well as other Rescue Organizations.

We do not have a shelter or facility. All of our pets are kept in foster homes until adopted. We feel that this better prepares the pet to live with the family who adopts them. We have placed over 1,000 pets with adoptive families and continuously look for new foster homes so that we can give more pets a chance at a new life.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in Foster care and live with families until they are adopted. We can arrange a visit with any of our pets in foster when someone calls or emails us.

You can view our adoptable pets on our website: and we also have a link on the Home Page to our Facebook page.

Our Adoption Process...

Email for an application. We require a vet reference and 2 personal references. Once the application is approved, we will arrange for the family to meet the pet and decide if they want to finalize the adoption. Our adoption fee is $150 regardless of age/breed. Our contract requires that the pet be kept as an indoor pet and part of the family. If the pet is old enough, it will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Young puppies are required to be spayed/neutered by the age of 6 months, which is not included in the adoption fee. You are required to send a spay/neuter certificate to Pet Helpers. If you can no longer provide a home for the pet, you are required to return the pet to Pet Helpers, Inc.
