Hi, I'm Sam! I may be small and cute, but don't let that fool you - I am a super independent dog with a mind all my own sometimes. I prefer to be the center of attention in your life, so I would rather not share a home with any children (two or four legged).
I'm pretty special to the staff here at the Roanoke Valley SPCA and they have set up a special training for me with a local behaviorist who can help us bond with one another and work together as a team. Because of this training, I am what they call foster-to-adopt. All that means is when we first go home together they send you with a goodie bag of stuff for me. Then once we complete our training, you come back and fill out some papers and I'm all yours!
Sam is six years old, 19 pounds, heartworm tested, neutered and up to date on his shots. Visit Sam today at the Roanoke Valley SPCA between noon and 6 pm.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
