Dex's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Dex's Story...
Dex is a stunning young Shepherd estimated around 1 year old. As a stray we unfortunately do not know anything about his history.

Dex was described as extremely friendly by shelter staff and is holding true to that in his foster placement. Very rambunctious and not the best well mannered but Dex means well. He has done great meeting various new people and everyone gets the same over the top energetic greeting.

Dex loves other dogs! How much they love him could be debated as he doesn't have a lot of social manners but he loves to play. He is already a very large dog but it doesn't look like anyone explained that to him so he can be a bit rough when he plays. He has found some very tolerant friends and learned to avoid some less tolerant ones. Although very rough and tumble Dex truly enjoys other dogs and would do great in a home with another energetic and playful dog.

Dex is a very energetic and intense dog. He is going to require a job to keep his mind and body focused and prevent any bad habits. Dex would likely excel in dog sports or even just advanced obedience (once he conquers basic of course). Regardless of the job he is given Dex will require plenty of productive energy outlets as his off button has not been fine tuned. Dex is searching for a home that will provide him with training, exercise, and adventure.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dex, a Louisville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Louisville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
