About Wadena County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Wadena County Humane Society is a rescue and adoption point for dogs and cats of all ages. Some lost their home through the death of their best friend, some were not allowed in a rental unit with their owner, some needed to be surrendered due to life changing events, others had been abandoned or abused. Most of the animals would be an excellent companion with the right home, training, and care. When you are looking for your new companion come visit the Wadena County Humane Society. Stop in and see the many companions looking for the right home. They are so loveable and affectionate, they are just waiting to share their love and affection with you.

Our Adoption Process...

The Wadena County Humane has an adoption process to assist in matching the animal with the right home, for both the pet and owner. Each animal has been examined and medicated for any internal or external parasites and started with basic immunizations. Additionally, all cats available for adoption have been tested negative for Feline Leukemia. Your adoption contract will require you to neuter or spay an adopted animal if it has not already been done. There are animals that have already been neutered or spayed that are available for adoption as well. Sexually mature animals are neutered or spayed before leaving the shelter.
