Jiggs and Maggie are a bonded pair of sweet, 11-year-old Havanese who have had a tough life.  Their original owner was killed in an accident, and they remained in their crate at the side of the road for 24 hours before anyone came to save them.  Since that time, they have been fortunate to have homes with people who cared for them.  When their recent owner could no longer keep them, she, believing that she had no other option, took Jiggs and Maggie to a vet clinic to have them euthanized.  The kind people at the vet clinic contacted Muddy Paws to see if they could be given another chance at life.  With the cooperative effort of the vet clinic, Promise for Paws Senior Dog Sanctuary, and Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, they are now safe, but it couldn’t have happened without the coordinated efforts of many people.

Jiggs and Maggie are very tiny, well-behaved Havanese.  They are great companion dogs who do well with children and other dogs.  Although they are house trained, they need a home with someone who can let them out a few times throughout the day.  Maggie has fluxating patellas so she needs to be prevented from jumping down from couches and chairs. Would you like to give these cuties their forever home?

Jiggs and Maggie qualify for our Seniors for Seniors discount if their adopter is at least age 65.

The suggested donation amount for Jiggs and Maggie together is $200, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our dogs in rescue.  To fill out an application, please visit the following web address:!adopt-a-pet/c7cy The adoptions for all of our dogs will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. About Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
