Ranger's Story...

Hi,

I'm Ranger, and I'm a neutered male Boxer whose coloring is fawn and white. I am 5 years old and I weigh 70 pounds.

Sometimes people walk right by my kennel and do not even look at me. Is it because I am a big dog with a big head and pointy ears? When they do this I want to call out to them and say, “Hey! I am always calm and quiet . I am so easy to walk on leash. I know the command sit, and while I am sitting, I just love to gaze at you with my golden eyes. I am also great with other dogs."

My volunteer friends at the shelter say I have an old soul because I am quiet and gentle. Check out my crazy bottom front teeth; they make my volunteer friends laugh!

Please come to the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad 92011. Open Tuesdays - Saturdays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

Bring these numbers with you for identification:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ranger, a Vista Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Vista, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
