Holster is a handsome young black and white greyhound male mix that is looking for his loving and furever home. He is in a foster home and working on his social skills and basic commands. His chocolate brown eyes will melt your heart.
Below is what his foster mom says about him.
Holster loves to play and romp around. He loves being outside exploring anything and everything. He is still learning to come inside when called but is getting better every day. He loves my 8 year old daughter in fact, I think he is more comfortable with her than me. He will approach for pets and loves to be petted, but is still slightly skittish when you approach him. Holster is a good dog and is learning how to be an awesome pet.
If you are willing to let Holster race into your heart please contact Cathy or Joe at

About Friends of Retired Greyhounds

About Our Rescue Group...

FOR Greyhounds Mission Statement
Friends of Retired Greyhounds is a 501c3 non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to:

* Cooperating with kennel operators and other adoption groups to place retired greyhounds in responsible, loving homes.

* Working with veterinarians to insure that dogs adopted from FOR greyhounds are altered, vaccinated, and in general good health before placing them in homes;

* Educating individuals and groups about greyhounds, their history, their lives as racing dogs, and our adoption program.

Our Adoption Process...

Every greyhound that comes to us for placement in a loving pet home is spayed/neutered; has current immunizations; teeth cleaned including any necessary tooth extractions; is micro chipped for permanent identification; nails are trimmed; treated for fleas/ticks; heartworm tested; and any other medical needs are taken care of. Each greyhound also goes to it’s adopted home with a martingale style collar and matching lead, and a training muzzle.

All of our dogs are either placed in foster homes or are placed into our cell dog program at “Crowley County Correctional Facility” in Olney Springs, Colorado.

Our foster homes, as well as the prison receive a dog bed, toys, dog food, treats, brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, food and water dishes, etc. for each dog. Some of our generous foster homes choose to provide some or all of these needs, but we provide the rest.

Of course, the longer the dog is with us, the higher the costs for feeding, and often the medical fees will be. Most dogs spend well over a month to three or four months with us. But…that moment when a greyhound finds a loving, responsible forever home and the new adopter falls in love with their new dog... PRICELESS!
