Marietta's Story...
Hey there! My name is Marietta and I was rescued by my friends at DFW Pug Rescue from a shelter in Louisiana. I’m just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen! I’m six years old and feel great, now that my heart worms are gone. I am rather timid and shy but I am getting more confident and social every day. Soon I will be a Velcro Pug and follow you around everywhere! I am good girl and have very nice house manners, I am potty trained, sleep quietly in bed with my foster parents at night and am learning to walk on a leash. I get very excited at dinner time, I love to eat! I am learning to love toys except if they squeak and then they frighten me. I love my foster pug siblings and really need to me around other dogs. My foster mom says they are my “security blanket” whatever that means! In short, I am a southern girl looking for a home that will help me continue to come out of my shell. I promise I will reward you with lots of puggie kisses and love! Mention me, MARIETTA, on your adotption application at and we can arrange a meet and greet so you can get to know me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marietta, a Grapevine Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Grapevine, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Grapevine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grapevine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grapevine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grapevine paves the way for another one to be saved.
