Shadow is a loving, eager to please 4-5 year old goofball.  He is a great companion inside and out but unfortunately has washed out as a ptsd service dog.  Shadow gets along with other dogs, cats, adults, but too big and goofy to live with children at 80lbs of dancing excitement when he is happy or tries to play with them.  When Shadow falls in love with you, he will become very protective to any stranger that approaches you in a manner he thinks is threatening.  Non-threatening strangers can come and go with happy wags and a goofy smile.  Poor Shadow has a past history of abuse and he has some scarring on his face.
Shadow  knows all his basic commands, house trained, crate trained, has used all methods of transport including flight, and works well with a face harness (halti, gentle leader). He enjoys biking, hiking, chilling at your feet or on the couch if allowed.  Shadow is stoically healthy but does have a seasonal cough due to allergies and when excited due to past trachea damage from collar.  He is UTD with shots, wellness exam, heartworm negative, and microchipped. About Ewenity Farm Herding Dog Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one on one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are a highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Since all rescue dogs live in our homes with us or in foster homes, you will need to travel to meet any dog you might want to adopt.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog.

Our Adoption Process...

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We conduct home visits. There is an adoption fee that is usually around $250 per dog to cover any expenses we have incurred. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.
