Cutie pie, lover, high energy pup that is extremely intelligent! Loves the outdoors!

Wiston is a year old lab mix. This handsome 36lb. boy is smart as a whip and is working on learning commands.  He knows "sit" and is working on "down", "leave it", and "stay". He needs a lot of consistency and practice, but it's easy to see he understands and he's highly treat motivated.  He's great with kids and other dogs, but he can definitely be a nudge to other older dogs in his foster home. He's curious about them but doesn't always pick up the cues that they are finished playing or that they need space. He's crate trained and is working on being house-trained.  He doesn't really play fetch or play outside with toys.  He's a chewer and loves doll toys, but not so much heavy chewing toys like the Kong. He loves long walks in the woods and the park, he spends a lot of time smelling and sniffing trees, grass, and leaves.  He walks well on a leash, but can pull a bit when he gets a-smellin'.  He is VERY curious about squirrels and if given the chance would absolutely run and chase them!  Wiston needs a high energy family that's willing to spend a lot of time outside with him.  He needs a family that will teach him all he is capable of learning and will be patient with him as he moves through the learning process because he's so smart, but he's equally as sensitive and desperately wants to please.  He will do great with tender firmness and gentle discipline, but clear boundaries and rules.  He would love to have a family to romp around with and who will let him climb onto their lap to get some sweet loving.  Apply today for this amazing little guy!  You will have the most loyal friend until the end of time.

About Mostly Muttz Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Mostly Muttz Rescue is an IRS registered, 501(c)3, public charity that is an all-volunteer, foster based canine rescue striving to keep man’s best friend from dying alone in the shelter system.

We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves at least a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the entirety of their life. At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
