My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Maya" is a sweet female kitty who was surrendered by her family the day after Christmas (December 26) in 2015 when she was 8-years old. "Maya" has spent the past nine months in our shelter and has celebrated every holiday since last Christmas alone in a cage or a tower :( She did enjoy a few weeks this past summer in what must have seemed like a 'real home' (in our Adoption Clerk's office) before the decision was made that no shelter cats could have free-roaming privileges. So "Maya" has once again been in a tower since early August :( "Maya" is a beautiful kitty with a black long smooth coat, a long fluffy tail, and a pretty face with large golden eyes. She has a calm, lovable disposition and a sweet, easygoing personality. "Maya" is a fairly big girl who weighs approximately 15 lbs. She has already been spayed. Her previous owner had told us when they brought her to our shelter that "Maya" loved her people friends but that she didn't care for the other animals in their home. "Maya" is the kind of kitty who would be a great companion to snuggle up next to you, and all she would ask is for a soft bed, good food, and love. "Maya" is currently in a floor cage in the lobby of our shelter where we hope she will find someone who will fall in love with her and give her the 'gift' of a lifetime .. Another real home :) She would also be available for foster/rescue. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters.
