Meet Crystal, a young Pyr mix, named for her riveting ice-blue eyes. Crystal loves to be with people because when she picks a comfy spot to nap, she is always close by or within sight of her foster. She gets along well with the large and small dogs in her foster home, and chases balls with a joyous puppy-like romp. Crystal is curious about her foster mom's cats, but is smart enough to know they have razor sharp claws and keeps her distance. It's clear she has lived inside because she's housebroken and her soft, fluffy medium-length coat was clean and healthy (and will be super-easy to brush!) Crystal's good manners on a leash and when greeting a new dog indicates she will be an excellent companion for a new family that has other pets. She has an easy-going, laid back personality, content just to hang out with you or ride along in the car to run errands. Crystal's foster mom is working on crate training her, teaching her about screen doors and working on a 'sit' command before going through doors or gates. When Crystal first came into rescue, her temporary foster was taken with her sweet personality, and believed she would be adopted quickly. Not only is she stunningly pretty, Crystal has the smarts to go with her good looks. This beauty princess is the total package, and will get lots of looks, which makes us sure she'll find her forever family very quickly!

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with your family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
