Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Jill, at only 14 weeks old and 14 lbs (estimated to be full grown at about 40 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began.
Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Jill just in time. This sweet and engaging Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.
Jill is also so beautiful...with the whitest of white and the cutest golden ears... her colors have come out since she received a good, sudsy bath after her release from the shelter.
Jill is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart and very engaging...so typical of a Golden/Lab mix. She's also bright and very, very loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Jill is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
Farfel's is open to Jill finding her forever home with very active retirees who have lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Jill is great with children as well.. we would be open to placing our sweet puppy in a home with dog-loving kids who want to make a fuzzy pup an important member of the family.
Jill will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 10/6/16. If interested in this very loving and fun best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
