Looking for fun in your life? We're a purrfect pair of kittens. Lars is a fun guy who likes to throw his weight around like he's a tough guy. He wrestles with his sister Heidi till she meows for mercy. He throws his body against yours when he wants you to cuddle with you. He's aggressively affectionate and is a lot of fun to watch and to live with. Heidi is his sister and they'd like to stay together if possible. She's an adorable and delicate little girl who would rather observe when the Wild Rumpus begins. She's a quiet observer and quietly affectionate. Her big eyes and gentle ways will melt your heart.

About Community Animal Rescue Effort - C.A.R.E.

About Our Rescue Group...

Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.™) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization with a mission to serve the communities of Chicago's North Shore by fostering and supporting healthy, positive relationships between people and companion animals. C.A.R.E. rehomes companion pets into safe, healthy, lifelong homes; serves as an educational and counseling resource; and works to reduce pet overpopulation.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Fees:
-Dogs and puppies: $250
-Cats and kittens: $150
-Two cats or kittens (bonded pair price): $175
-Senior pets: $75 (dogs 8 and older, cats 10 and older)
An additional $50 deposit for unneutered or unspayed animal is collected until proof of alteration can be provided.

We only adopt to homes in the Chicagoland area.

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative.

Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.

Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.
