My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Perfect Companion for Senior Home!

Paco is a chihuahua/terrier mix (possibly Pug). His owners lost their home and became an orphan in rescue. He is 8 years old.

Paco is very loving and snugly with his foster mom. He is a low-key boy who just likes to keep someone company!

He is currently fostered with several dogs but picks and chooses who he likes. He seems to be the best with other dogs that are low-key like himself. He LOVES to go for walks and you'll see a lot of energy out of him when he sees his leash and harness!

This time in foster-care is his first move. He was with his original family since he was a puppy. He is leery of strangers and doesn't make a good first impression. He is not the type of dog you would take to a child's baseball game or any major social event. He's pretty much only loves his own family. Because of this, he'll also be a great alert dog to strangers around the home.

He does bark at strange noises or the neighbors or what have you. Inside, he is quiet but outside, he looks for the squirrels or birds or anything he can bark out. His bark is not very loud and he does come inside when you call him.

A fenced yard is not required. He can easily go out on a long lead or simply take walks for potty duties. He is house-trained (but will soil in a new home from stress and anxiety of the change!) and crate-trained.

Because of his restricted devotion, we would not feel comfortable putting him in a home with small children. For older children, he would learn who his family and be ok.

His dream; home consists of a loving single person, couple or family with older children who don't have a super active home. Visitors would just need to leave him alone and allow him to come up to them without trying to pet him. He would be perfect for a senior looking for some company!!!

So, if someone is looking for a devoted dog that enjoys lap time, watching TV, this is your boy!!

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at
https://dogsunlimited.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application-for-dogs-unlimited-rescue/

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.

Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy! Questions: email adopt@dogsunlimitedrescue.org

And THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog for your family!
