My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Davis is a 2 year old, long-haired chihuahua. This little guy was hit buy a car. The impact caused a diaphragmatic hernia where his intestines moved into his chest and relocated his other organs as well. His right leg had also been broken. Emergency surgery corrected the hernia and placed all his organs back into the proper place. Recovery was painful but he pulled through like a champ!! He will have the pin removed from his leg and be neutered on Oct. 10th. After that quick recovery, he will be looking for his furever home!

Little Davis won the hearts of all the veterinarians and technicians that helped him recover. He is so very sweet! Now that he is in full health, his true personality is coming out. He is turning into the "typical chihuahua" that is a little yappy and more of a one-person dog. He can be handed off to people without an issue but visitors in the home are not so warmly welcomed. If you are a chihuahua fan, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And because of this breed-specific behavior, we really are wanting him to go to a home that understands chihuahuas.

To his "people", Davis is the sweetest guy in the world. He gives kisses freely and will try to get on your lap every chance he gets. He loves to cuddle in bed and be carried around.

He is only 8lbs, he is working on house-training (so he is not 100% yet!). He can probably be left in a crate without issues but he's non-destructive so his foster mom does not crate him.

He is good with other dogs and really loves other chihuahuas. He likes to play but his more of a lap dog. His true play time is limited and would rather be around his people.

We are so happy we could save Davis and that he pulled through to become a healthy, happy boy.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at
https://dogsunlimited.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application-for-dogs-unlimited-rescue/

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.

Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy! Questions: email adopt@dogsunlimitedrescue.org

And THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog for your family!
