Sam's Story...
Hi, my name is Sam. I am settling into my new foster home and it feels great to be out of the shelter. My foster dad just gave me a bath and boy, did it feel good. I am a red coated Lab and am a happy friendly guy. I am housetrained, crate trained, love to walk on a leash and know how to sit and lay down on command. I am 6 yrs old and weigh approximately 120 lbs. Because of my size, my forever home should probably not have small children, although I like kids and get along great with other dogs. For more information about me please contact my foster dad at gem4619@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
