Bo Foo Foo (BFF) – Came to us as an owner surrender whose health was failing and couldn't take care of him anymore. He was very depressed at the shelter and wouldn't eat, so we sent him to a great foster and he has really come out of his shell there. A very attentive dog to his human roommates. He loves his walks but is not overly energetic. He prefers a ride to a walk anytime. Bo is extremely gently when taking treats and eating his daily meal. In fact he is not a big eater or beggar. Bo can go a whole workday in the house without issue. He rarely barks unless a stranger approaches the door, then it is a deep assertive bark. He is easy to bathe; appreciates one on one attention and comfortable spots to relax with a chew toy. Come check out Mr. Foo, he loves meeting new people! He has met other dogs and cats and just ignores them. If you are interested in meeting Bo and his foster please email Bo Foo Foo's adoption fee is sponsored by the ASPCA adoption ambassador grant.

About Atlanta Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
