Please read all info below before proceeding. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before filling out an application. While we don't charge a fee to submit an application we can understand why some rescues do. A lot of time is spent reviewing applications. Time that can be spent caring for the dogs. To do all that only to be told that you now aren't ready or have changed your mind is time consuming. Please read all info posted about the dogs and if we say the dogs needs a fenced yard and you don't have one please don't proceed. We also don't adopt out to home with INVISIBLE/SHOCK FENCING and can provide you some info if you would like to understand why we feel this way. Because these are rescued dogs we don't usually know who the parents are so breed listings are usually an educated guess. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE A LIFETIME COMMITMENT TO THIS PET. If you are interested in this dog please go to our website to fill out an application A vet reference and home visit are required. Please check our pet list to see more animals up for adoption.
Millie is a 4 year old Yorkie that has had a rough life. She came to us very scared and dirty from living in filth.. When she first arrived she wouldn't come near us but within a week she knew she was safe and has bonded quickly to me... she has formed such a bond that she feels she has to protect me from all the other dogs. We are offering her on a foster to adopt basis because we know even though the first meeting might not go well, if she is given a chance you will have a life long friend. We are only considering a family that fits the following list as we don't want her to be stressed by being passed around to families that aren't a good fit..... she would do best in a quiet home without any other dogs and without young children. She also needs a secure fenced area which doesn't have to be very big, as leash walking is an ongoing process. She isn't a dog that will run and play but she is a great dog to cuddle and to be a lap dog once she knows she is safe and loved. She has been spayed and microchipped.

About SusieQ Dog ResQ

About Our Rescue Group...

SusieQ Dog ResQ has a mission to rescue needy and unwanted dogs and keep them in our home until a home of their own can be found. I started my non profit venture following my volunteering in the rescue of animals in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. It was then that I knew I wanted to focus on this full time. I do know that one person doing their part, no matter how large or small, can make a difference.I have met so many gracious, deserving pets over the years and try to give back the love and trust they put in me by improving their lives and giving them a chance to find a forever home.. I have met many dedicated people from all over the U.S. doing what they can to improve the lives of many formerly unwanted pets. I have fallen in love with my FOSTER FURRIES over the years and although it is always hard to let them go, just thinking of the next one needing to be saved helps me continue. I do this in my own home where I get to know each and every one of them very well and can make the best matches into new families. They all stay in my home and become part of our family until their own family can be found. I do this with the help of my husband, Ray, who is a retired Firefighter. We recieved our 501c3 non-profit status in 2007 so donations are tax deductible. Donations are needed to help with the vet bills and to keep my rescue going. We are volunteers so every dollar goes into caring for the animals. Thank you for considering a rescue dog.
