My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say, “Hello” to Maddie! She is a wonderfully sweet dog that would love to be your best friend and your world. She is 7 years old, 40 pounds, and a perfect balance of age and energy. She’s down for a cuddle on the couch or a romp with her Frisbee. She wouldn’t complain about a hike but prefers something on the shorter side. Maddie is working through some general anxiety and would do best with a solid experienced leader that has the confidence to guide her or she will become protective. Maddie needs help meeting/seeing people and dogs. She is vocal ranging from whining to barking depending on the situation but with redirection she adjusts quickly. She just needs more practice and positive reinforcement. If she is shown respect and not rushed she does great and willingly meets people. Maddie is crate trained but doesn’t need it. She loves to swim and hang out off leash where appropriate, she has good recall and leash skills. Maddie would like a calm, balanced house with no young children. She could potentially benefit from a house mate but she will have meet them. We think an older, stable male that can show her how to act and not worry so much would be helpful. She could possibly live with cats but they would have to be dog savvy, none would be best. Her personality really shines in those sweet moments at home cuddled up. Will you be her constant companion? Her playmate? Her guardian? She promises to be worth it! Her adoption fee is $150. Visit mustlovedogsnw.org to download the adoption application.
