Hi, my name is Sally Mae, I am about 3 years old and weigh 55 lbs. My foster family thinks I'm just about the best dog, they tell me that all the time! You see, I'm the kind of dog that wants to do whatever I can to keep my people happy. My story is that I ended up in the shelter in Georgia as a stray, they knew I'd had a family before because of my manners, but for some reason no one ever claimed me. I'm not going to let that happen again!

So - here's what I'm good at! I'm completely house-trained, I am content in my crate when my family leaves as long as I have a chew toy, and I've graduated to sleeping where I want at night. I have no problem sharing toys and food, and I take treats very gently. I do a really good 'sit', and am getting the hang of 'lie down' and 'stay'. I will come when you call me (although I may not hear you if I'm chasing a squirrel!), I listen when you say 'leave it', and even though I really, really want to cuddle with you on the couch, I respect that people don't always like that, so I will stay off the furniture if you tell me. I walk well on a leash, in my foster home I walk with two other dogs at the same time and we all heel together, it's pretty cool to see. I go to doggy daycare sometimes, and they say I'm great in their playgroups, I love to play with my friends. I don't even bark much - I mean, I will if the other dogs start, but I'm a pretty quiet girl.

I've met a bunch of kids and really liked them. I'm not touchy about my feet or teeth or tail, and I easily roll over to have my tummy scratched. I met a cat the other day, and when I went for a sniff, it walked away, so I lost interest and went back to my people. I do like a good long walk every day, or if you have a dog friend for me who likes to play, that would be wonderful. But all you need to do is look into my big brown eyes to know that I will spend every minute for the rest of my life making sure we are together forever!

Adoption Fee: $400

We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.

Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large

If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.

If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee.

Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.

If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.

If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.

Please go to
WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

About Tailwaggers 911

Our Adoption Process...

To begin our adoption process, please visit http://www.tailwaggers911.com/howtoadoptapet.htm - there you can read more about our policies, our adoption area and fill out an online application. The applications are good for 60 days.

After being approved, you will receive an email and if the dog you are interested in is available, the foster for the dog will be in contact to set up a meet and greet to determine if this is the correct dog for your family/lifestyle. If so, you could begin our mandatory 5 day foster to adopt trial period, and if you decided to adopt, we would set up your home visit.
