Meet little Ben. Ben is a Chihuahua mix who is tan in color. He is estimated at 2-3 yrs old by the vet’s office. He weighs 9 lbs.

Ben came into Puppy Pals Rescue through our volunteer, Lisa C. in KY. Ben was a stray at a local shelter. Lisa arranged for Ben to be vetted before his transport to Ohio. He was neutered, heartworm and fecal tested (all results negative) and was given all his shots and micro-chipped.

Ben is very active fella. He loves to play with the other dogs here and enjoys chasing them out in the yard. He is starting to enjoy toys. He seems to enjoy going for car rides and loves to spend time in his foster dad’s lap when taking a nap.

Ben seems to get along with all the dogs here at this foster home. We are trying to get him accustomed to the crate, which he doesn’t seem to care for, but progress is being made.

Ben does need continuous potty-training. He’s not perfect yet. He just needs time and patience and I’m sure that he’ll be great – especially when there are less dogs and his humans are able to give more attention to just him.

Ben will need to be child tested as his foster home doesn’t have any. He seems to do great out in public with kids. We would prefer children to be 6+ years old, as he could knock them over if younger.

Ben is an adorable and a really handsome Chihuahua. If you might be interested in Ben, please complete an application. He will be attending our Petco events (next one is 10/15/16) until he’s adopted. Come on out and meet Ben and other dogs looking for homes.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email his foster home at the link below. His adoption donation fee is $225.

If you have any questions please contact my foster home at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me - you can find those at (Email my foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received! )

I just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!!

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small group of friends who all volunteer their personal time and work hard using special talents to make an impact on the life of a dog in need (one at a time). We are experienced in small, long-haired breeds with special focus on the Yorkshire Terrier.

Our volunteers foster out of their homes. We raise funds with members who handcraft doggie items and homebaked doggie treats to sell at area craft fairs and festivals.

We can always use help and support! FOSTER HOMES ARE ALWAYS NEEDED in the Greater Dayton area.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our fosters are in our volunteer's homes and an appointment would be needed to meet the dog.

We do pet events - check the Events calendar on our website at for more information.

You can also visit our website to complete an application to adopt or email us with questions.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt - An application will need to be completed which will include 3 personal references; and, a vet reference (if you have one).

A telephone interview by the foster home and a home visit will be scheduled. Once these are completed the foster home has the final say on the adoptive family.

We match the dog's personality with the family. Every animal is different; some are child friendly - others might not be. Some require fenced-in yards .. others might not. We discourage the use of invisible fences for small breed dogs.

Our fees are based on the age and medical needs of the dog and range from $100 - $400.
