My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Roswell, NM rescuers for saving Martha...she could see that her temperament is so sweet and loving that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized.

Meadow was immediately brought to be vetted and then to a great foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Martha, at only 9 weeks old and 4 lbs (expected to be approximately 25 - 30 lbs when full-grown - a perfect size for hiking and frisbee) is happy, loving and so very sweet.

Martha is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...Martha will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. A puppy kindergarten class is perfect for a curious and playful young pup...it teaches cause and effect that a dog will use for its entire life.

Martha is a gorgeous Cattle Dog puppy with a shining and cottony-soft blue merle coat that speaks of good health. Martha's peaceful demeanor (she's still just a puppy..watch out for silly bursts of energy) is just who she is...she appears to be more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If she is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, Martha will become a well-adjusted girl who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for sweet Martha.

We also feel it's very important that Martha is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. She would be overjoyed with walks along Colorado paths enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Martha can be taught that the car is a fun place and leads to great adventures out in the community...she can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere.

Martha will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to her neuter, microchip and any additional puppy shots she might require if our Denver vet is used.

Martha has the most beautiful blue merle coat. Lots of sudsy baths and serious brushing combined with great nutrition will keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft.

Martha will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 10/7/16. If interested in this very loving and fun best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
