This is Daisy (HWTH#16329A). She is a German Shepherd mix, DOB: 9/11/11. Daisy weighs approximately 65 pounds (she is underweight) and stands 24 inches at the shoulders. Daisy had an owner who works out of town and would be gone for days at a time but was only feeding Daisy when he was home. A neighbor noticed the neglect and started feeding Daisy by throwing food over the fence. The neighbor finally convinced Daisy's owner to relinquish her to Halfway to Home to find Daisy the loving, caring home she deserves. This is a loving, high-energy girl who should thrive once she is getting the love, good-quality human companionship, exercise and nutrition she needs to be a well-rounded dog. Since being at the rescue, Daisy has improved her walking on leash but will still benefit from positive basic obedience training to help with the bonding process (but only after she is thoroughly settled into her new Forever home). Once Daisy has bonded with her new owner she will make a loyal canine companion. Daisy gets along well with large dogs but should be introduced slowly to small dogs since she has not had a lot of canine socialization. She is crate trained. Daisy's left ear is bent and does not straighten. For more information on Daisy, please contact Suzanne at tele # 661-8214-4495.
Halfway To Home was formed in 2001 due to the need in the Antelope Valley to rescue the many homeless, helpless pets. We have animals from individuals who have to give up pets, and from animal shelters that have darling individuals who need to be spared euthanasia. There are puppies coming from individuals who did not spay and neuter in a timely manner. Your tax deductible donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 512 Rosamond, CA 93560 or you can visit us on our web site at www.halfwaytohome.net and make a donation through PayPal.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Come and see us every Saturday & Sunday, rain or shine from 1 to 5 PM at the Westside Palmdale Petsmart, located on 10th Street West, next to Trader Joe's, just south of Rancho Vista Blvd (Avenue P).
We are in need of volunteers to help out at our pet adoptions at PetSmart in west Palmdale on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. If interested, please visit us during our adoption hours at the west Palmdale PetSmart or call Suzanne at 661-824-4495.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption procedure includes an application to make sure the dog and the people will be a good match, an adoption fee to cover the cost for shots, spaying or neutering, and a home check. Halfway to Home dogs are adopted out to be part of the family, and many of them are housetrained, if not, we ask that you are willing to undertake that task. Our dogs are intended to be indoor/outdoor family members. Doggie doors are a plus.
